The Holy Name Society, ca. 1945

The Holy Name Society was a men's social order within the Catholic Church. The society raised money at events and provided men from the various communities within the parish an opportunity to socialize. In the back of this photo is one of the few photos showing the original Catholic church at Prospect. The small cape code style building was built in the 1790s and served as the community's church until 1858.
